10 YouTube channels every F1 fan must know!

YouTube has one of the big impacts on the recent popularity of F1 and personally, I have learnt the most about Formula 1 from YouTube itself. Today we are going to take a look at a few youtube channels that create one of the best F1 content apart from the official F1 channel is legendary in itself as well.

  • P1 with Matt and Tommy

Matt Gallagher and Tom Bellingham used to be the host and founder of the WTF1 youtube channel respectively, but left the brand at the start of this year(2023) and built a new one together as P1 with Matt and Tommy. Matt has always been an entertaining host of videos he even is working as an F1 Esports commentator. Matt and Tommy create overall general and fun videos about F1 as a sport, its current affairs and its history, race prediction, race reviews, funny tweets and reactions and much-related stuff. Their passion for the sport is very visible which makes the videos very likeable. They also run a podcast.

  • Kym Illman

Kym Illman is a professional photographer who attends all the races of the season and talks with F1 drivers and he also has his photography book for sale. His videos mostly are related to the on-ground activities of F1 such as How F1 drivers travel, what do they ware, Who do they come with and hang out with, The race experience, helping to plan the race trip and whatnot. His videos are very unique from the rest of the channels and give us some on-the-ground and behind-the-scenes information about F1 which makes us feel very close to the sport.

  • Nico Rosberg

Nico is the 2016 Formula1 world champion who raced for Mercedes along with lewis hamilton as his teammate that year. Nico Retired from F1 at the end of the 2016 season just after winning the championship. Nico is right now engaged in content creation and commentary. Nico's videos are about Track guides, his F1 experience when he was racing, Interesting Vlogs and Interviews with famous people. Nico is a very smart and technical driver which is reflected in his videos.

  • Driver61

Scott Mansell who is the Founder of Driver61 is himself a pro racing driver apart from being a content creator. His videos are focused on technical aspects of driving and racing and are mostly educational. His technical understanding of the sport with his simple language of explanation makes his videos a lot more interesting and informative.

  • Josh Revell

Josh Revell is probably my favourite YouTube channel on this list. Josh posts Storytelling videos of Drivers' history and events that happened in F1. He follows up with junior categories of the sport as well. His passion and his knowledge not only for F1 but for overall Motorsports are unparalleled. He explains everything in a humourous and storytelling way, which is so popular that some other youtube channels tried to copy his style. His videos and the jokes in the videos may not be made for beginners of the sport but once you get the hang of it, You'll appreciate the quality and efforts in his videos.

  • WTF1

As discussed above Matt Gallagher was the face of the WTF1 channel. Even if he has left the channel, The channel still progresses in the same direction. WTF1 posts general videos about F1 and it's probably the most beginner-friendly youtube channel on this list although it doesn't feel the same after matt.

  • Tommo (TommoF1)

Tom McCluskey is an F1 fan. He posts mostly about current affairs, race prediction, Ranking videos, livery design and whatnot, his channel is the most diverse in this list. The videos he posts feel very informal and feel like he's not telling but talking with his audience, which is the beauty of his videos. His race-chinwag and qualifying watch-along live streams are very entertaining.

  • FormulaWorld

FormulaWorld creates short-length (not youtube shorts) F1 news videos. The content that is delivered in the shortest amount of time feels very efficient and easy to watch. The best channel for quick F1 updates. The videos last from 2 to 3 minutes.

  • TheRace

The Race creates high-quality Detailed news, Topic discussion and analysis videos about F1. The quality of the videos and content is the main factor of the channel.

  • Yelistener

As the logo itself shouts, Yelistener posts analysis videos of F1 but with actual telemetry and race data, the videos such as "good lap vs best lap", driving styles of drivers and analysis of racing incidents. The channel identifies interesting things from the race that people won't usually notice. and explain what happens along with telemetry. The telemetry, up-to-the-mark information and short length of the videos are the best part of the videos.

  • Gross Jean

There are so many F1 meme video channels, But Gross Jean is my favourite F1 meme recap channel. The videos uploaded are usually very less and late but, The content and the memes used in the videos are the best of any videos. "Quality over Quantity" is what I would say for this channel.

Thank You!
